Obituary
Obituary for Ronald (Ron) Harvey
May 15, 1933 – June 27, 2021
It is with great sadness that Ron’s family announces his peaceful passing at Eagle Ridge Hospital at the golden age of 88 years.
A lover of guitar, barbershop quartet singing and everything family – Ron will be remembered for his love of music, his family and singing with his barbershop quartet, The Jim Dandies. Music was a big part of his life and rarely did an evening end without Ron breaking into song and encouraging all to sing along. Ron was always up for a night of lively card playing with friends and his favourite game was canasta. Always happy and easy going, Ron entertained everyone around him with jokes, trivia and stories and was often the life of the party. His humour and infectious laughter will be sadly missed. His grandkids gave him such joy while spending hours of time watching dance, soccer and hockey.
Ron lived a full, adventurous and blessed life that took him from Carcroft, England where he was raised, to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and ultimately Coquitlam, British Columbia where he and his beloved wife Deanna called home for over 50 years.
Ron was predeceased at birth by his mother Alice, his surrogate mother Annie (sister of Alice), father Percy and Cousin Jim with whom he was raised. He is survived by his wife Deanna of 58 years, daughters Alison and Gayla (Ian) and grandchildren Evan and Olivia, his sisters Pat (Dave) and Sherry in Saskatoon, along with many nieces and nephews in Saskatoon.
A special thank you to the nurses at Eagle Ridge Hospital for the loving care of Ron. The family is very grateful.
A celebration of Ron’s life will happen at a later date.
In Loving Memory
