Ronald Mercer
1961-2021
It is with great love and sadness that the family of Ronald
Harvey Mercer, originally of Dunville, announces that he peacefully
passed away on January 28, 2021 at the age of 59 following a short,
courageous and valiant battle with Glioblastoma cancer.
Predeceased by his loving mother Shirley Mercer on March 19, 2020 and
by his infant triplet sisters.
Leaving to mourn, his devoted daughters Amanda (Chase) and
Katie (Travis) and their mom Ann Marie (Glenn); sons Matthew (Ashley)
and Michael (Bret); special grandson and pop’s best buddy
Parker; grandsons Ayden, Dawson, Danny and Wyatt and granddaughter
Lincoln; his father Harvey, sisters Marina (Carl) Pitcher and Beverly;
and a large extended family.
Many heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff of the H.Bliss
Murphy Cancer Centre and the Palliative Care team and unit for their
excellent care during the last 9 months.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Maher’s
Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation to take place on Saturday, January
30th, 2021 from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Public Health
Emergency, visitation is permitted with
restrictions. The maximum number of
people permitted in the visitation room at one time is 20
people. All visitors must sign in and
sign out for contact tracing purposes, and masks must be worn at all
times. Hand sanitizer will be provided and is to be used
upon entering and exiting the building. Please visit

Funeral service will take place on Sunday, January 31, 2021
at 2pm at St. Martin’s Anglican Church in Dunville with
internment in the Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery in Southeast,
Placentia.
