HOBGEN, Ronald
Passed away peacefully at Royal Rose Retirement Home on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 96 years of age.
Mr. Hobgen was born September 11, 1925 in London England. He served faithfully during WW2, with the Royal Engineers, and in 1944 married Ruby Hall and had one daughter, Beverley born in 1947.
In 1956 the three immigrated to Peterborough Canada, and thereafter, Hamilton.
Mr. Hobgen was a master electrician and worked as a contractor for several industrial firms in Edmonton and Ontario. He retired to Welland to be close to family and in later years resided at Seasons and Royal Rose Place in Welland.
He was predeceased by his wife in 2002 and is survived by his daughter Beverley Byberg and his son in law Ken Byberg of Pelham, granddaughters Kendra of Toronto and Andrea of Fonthill, as well as three great grandchildren.
Ronald was a member of the Masons and Scottish Right.
In light of his wishes, a formal service will not be held.
The family wishes to acknowledge Royal Rose Place for their care, compassion and professionalism during Ron’s last 19 months, especially these times of Covid difficulties.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Elisha House in Welland.
