With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our sweet Dad on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at Trillium Health Partners at the age of 81. Loving husband to our late Mom, Joan (2017). Proud Dad of twins Heather (Tim Hartnell) and Bev (John Lindsay). Cherished Grandpa to Nicole, Jenny and “his pup” Bailey. Step-Grandfather to Kyle and Brittany. Predeceased by his sister Shirley Dubroy and Mom & Dad, Dorothy and Kent. Brother-in-law to Ted Dubroy and Dan and Bonnie Waterfield. Uncle and Great-Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his great neighbours on Delkus Cres. Dad was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia and came to Toronto as a teen and married our Mom in 1964. He enjoyed a long career in sales in the meat industry and later retired from Mercury Marine. Dad loved to play golf but his true passion was hockey which he played well into his 70’s. A true Canadian and The Toronto Maple Leafs’ biggest fan. Dad had many buddies at The Westmall Oldtimers Hockey League and Fairfield Golf Club. Our many thanks to Dad’s best friends, Don & Gail Lamb for always being there for him. Our Dad was a wonderful man, a true gentleman and always had a smile on his face. He will truly be missed by so many.
Dad we love you. Our hearts are broken and we miss you so much. Thanks for being the Best Dad ever!
A private service will be held
Monday March 29, 2021 at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel. A party in his memory will be held when it is safe to do so. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
