It is with extreme sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dad, and grandfather (Ronald James Woodall) in the early hours on Saturday October 9, 2021, at the Grace Hospital, with his family by his side, at the age of 81.
In keeping with our dad wishes, cremation has taken place and Celebration of his Life will take place sometime later in 2022.
Ron will be deeply missed by his three children Rhonda (Kerry) Kalupar, Murray, Kari, and his grandchildren Breanon (Jared), Austin, and Jenna.
Also survived by his twin brother Murray (Sr.) (Rosemary); his brother-in-law Ken Olson and Norman Desfosses; sister-in-law Judy Hildahl, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years Carolyn Violette Woodall, his parents, Frank and Edith Woodall; his half- brothers Frank (Annette) and Doug (Betty) Woodall; brothers-in-law Boris Storozuk, Ken Hildhal and Brian Olson; sister-in-law Alice Olson, Verna Storozuk, and Nancy Desfosses.
Dad was born on March 17, 1940, at General Hospital here in Winnipeg. He grew up in the north end and lived at 74 Luxton, the house his grandfather built, brick by brick. Dad attended Luxton School and Tec Voc School. Dad loved his sports and played soccer, baseball, and several other sports.
Dad worked as an Electrician and retired from the WPG School Board in 2005 at the age of 65. In 1958 our dad and his twin brother Murray (Sr.) started their apprenticeship at Shoemacher Mackenzie until they obtain their Journeyman ticket and started at IBEW, then at Comstock for 15 years. Our dad traveled with his jobs, along with his twin brother to several locations in Manitoba, Northern Ontario, where the two became known as the “Gold Dust Twins”. As well, a few places in the USA at the American Crystal Sugar Company in Drayton, N.D. and at the Missile base in Grand Forks.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the ER at Grace Hospital for the care and kindness given to our dad.
In leu of flowers, donation in Ronald’s memory may made to Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBD).
We love you Dad, and forever you will be in our hearts.
