Roger Joseph Morissette
The Family announces with heartfelt sorrow the passing of Roger J. Morissette at the age of 87, on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021 at the Timmins and District Hospital. He passed away peacefully with his brother Éhude (late Jacqueline) Morissette and his sister Marie (Phil) Ouimette by his side. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Antoinette (late brother Patrice (Toby) Morissette).
Roger is predeceased by his parents Patrice and Marie (née Larivière) Morissette, Brothers Henri (late Claire Honeyford), Aza (Moe) (late Josephine Nora), Noé-Gilles (Slim) (late Noemi Boisvenue), René (late partner Hazel Auger), Leo, Sisters Rita (late Joe) Miron, Hermaine (late Simon) Dunn. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins and his good friends Michael Coleman (Collingwood/ON) and Jim Sealy (Kingston/ON).
The Family would like to thank the staff at The Walford Timmins and the Timmins and District Hospital for the care and support given to Roger – this was very much appreciated.
As an expression of Sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Humane Society of your choice would be appreciated by the Family.
Visitation will be held at LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home in Timmins, on Friday, September 3rd, 2021 between 7:00pm and 9:00pm. A second visitation will be held at Paroisse St-Dominique du Rosaire in Timmins on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 between 10:00am and 11:00am. The service will follow on Tuesday September 7th, 2021 at 11:00am officiated by Father Alexis O’Lenga. Respecting COVID restrictions, wearing of masks, physical distancing and maximum capacity of attendees will be in place during the visitations and the funeral.
