Obituary for Roger Duchene
Roger A. Duchene, age 86, died peacefully with his family at his side at CKHA on August 13, 2021. Loving husband for 61years to Eileen (nee Antaya). Beloved father of, Rob (MaryAnn), Gerry (Doreen) and Paula (Bob) Perrault. Loving grandfather of Jocelyn, Charlene, Christine, David and Michael. Son of the late Leonard and Laudia Duchene and dear brother of Denis and JoAnn Duchene, the late Len Duchene and his wife Sharon, the late Rev. Gerald Duchene and the late Paul and Gabrielle Duchene. Cherished Uncle, godfather and cousin to countless others who he always held dear. Roger had a quiet strength that carried his family and friends. He resided in Chatham, and worked for 36 years in the Chatham area as an architectural draftsman. Roger had left his design mark on buildings such as The Pines original Mother House, Civic Centre, Walpole Island School and the CK Police Station. Roger enjoyed his retirement years on the Big Rideau, wintering in Sydney, BC and returning recently to Wallaceburg. Always willing to help, he would use his woodworking talents to help anyone who asked. He will be greatly missed by all and his beautiful woodworking projects will be cherished by many. Roger was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus participating with councils in Ontario and British Columbia. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of CKHA, Bayshore, Erie St. Clair LHIN and the VON for all your care and compassion. Family and friends are invited for visitation at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg, on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 11am until 12:30pm. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 1pm from Our Lady Help of Christians Church.
