Roger’s Obituary
DAVIS, Roger Aston ~ age 77, of Nictaux, Annapolis Co., passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the Valley Hospice, Kentville, with special friend Linda at his side. Born in Gableton, Yarmouth Co., he was a son of the late Freeman and Sarah (Vananburg) Davis. Roger retired from long haul trucking after having over 30 years of service, and travelled halfway around the world including Africa, Australia, Rome, Italy and all over the USA. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and working on small engines in his shop. Roger is survived by sisters, Joyce (Wayne) Crosby, South Ohio, NS; Gladys Crosby, Ohio, NS; Audrey (Orland) Fritz, Prince George, BC; brother, Stanley (Anna) Davis, Lower Wedgeport, NS; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Marjorie Taylor, May Muise, Belle White and brother, Cecil Davis. In keeping with Roger’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date due to COVID restrictions. Special thanks to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Palliative Care teams and the Valley Hospice, Kentville for taking such great care of him. Donations in Roger’s memory may be made to the Annapolis Valley VON or Carey-Me Fund, Supporting Palliative Care in the Home.
