Obituary of Rocklyn “Rocky” Copithorn
Passed peacefully with family by his side Monday November 29th after a long courageous battle.
He is survived by his wife Deb of 44 years and his 2 children and 7 grandchildren, Ryan (Rhiannon), Aryanna, Haydn, Callum and Bayleigh, Samantha (David), Hailey, William & Emily. His siblings Norm (Jacquie), Barb (Gunner), Brian (Bev) and Gail (Al).
Rocky grew up in Pine Grove (Woodbridge) and had a life full of adventure; Skydiving and teaching along with jumping into the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival, then Hang gliding and teaching with High Perspective including a trip to Oman, Ballroom dancing and teaching for 18 years with the York Region Board of Ed Night School Program in Aurora, Mountain Biking and Racing cross country along with 24 hour team races. Rocky was very creative and loved stained glass and woodworking.
A long career driving truck; tractor trailer, then working for his family sand and gravel business in Woodbridge before moving to the York Region Roads team.
Rocky loved people and will leave a big hole in our hearts.
An informal celebration of life will be held on Monday December 6th at W.M. Becker Funeral Home 490 The Queensway South, Keswick, Ontario from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. (Mandatory wearing of mask, self distancing and tracking required). We ask you to share your memories on a memory board that will be posted in the home. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of York Region or a charity of your choice in Rocky’s name would be appreciated.
