Robert Wayne “Bob” Connell
1947-2021
A job worth
doing is worth doing well.
The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth
Hospital, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on Friday December 24,
2021 of Robert (Bob) Wayne Connell formerly of Delhaven, Nova Scotia
aged 74 years after a short courageous battle with a rare
neurological disease.
Born in Middleton Nova Scotia on January 1, 1947 son of the
late Ralph and Helen (Beals) Connell of Annapolis
County.
Loving Husband of Twila (Garby) Connell and father
of Rob (Nora) Connell and daughter Angela (Jason) Roberts.
Grampy to Jordyn Connell, Matthew Roberts, Jack Roberts and Zachary
Connell.
Survived by bothers George (Sandy) Connell, Donnie (Margaret)
Connell and sister Pam Connell. Also survived by many sister in laws,
brother in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bob served with the RCMP from 1966-2003. He was
extremely conscientious of everything he undertook. He
believed in dedication and determination. His career started
with the marine division in Kenora, Ontario of which he often talked
fondly. His career with the RCMP brought him across many
provinces in Canada. He often accepted challenging and
remote postings in order to further his career. Bob lead an
active lifestyle as he was a runner and an accomplished marathoner.
Even after he retired, he continued his involvement with his
community and living actively. Bob was a member and chair of
the Western Kings Community Health Board, also volunteered and chaired
the local NSPACTS Active Transportation Board. He worked tirelessly on
the beautification of the local trails and playgrounds. Bob also
helped maintain the Woodville Community Centre. In addition to this he
spent countless hours at his brother’s apple orchard helping
with the harvest each year. Bob was respected and
appreciated by the entire community of Cambridge Nova Scotia where he
last resided.
Bob was a passionate craftsmen. He not only
completed projects for himself, he often built for others
too. Measure once, twice and re-measure was Bob’s
way. He took extreme pride in his work especially with his
own property .… minus the crows.
Bob quietly showed his care for his family, but above all
ensured the health and wellbeing of his wife Twila. She was
at the center of his life.
A special thank you to the staff of the Queen Elizabeth
Hospital for their compassion and consideration of
care.
Bob will be greatly missed by Twila, his family and
friends.
Resting at Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral
Home. Due to restrictions no public visitation will be held.
A celebration of life will occur in Nova Scotia at a later
date. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Kidney
Foundation of Canada.
