RAAFLAUB, Robert Keith “Bob” or “Rafty” – Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Friday, October 8, 2021. Bob of Peterborough, formerly of Lindsay was 86 years of age.
Beloved husband of Ruth for 64 years. Loving father of Karen Sharp (Chris), Andrea Trude (Rick), and Elizabeth “Beth” Guest (Bill). Proud Grandpa of Corey, Malcolm, Brandon, McKenzie, and Casidy and great grandfather of Reign. Son of the late Roberta Marie Trick. Dear brother of Arlene Cassady (Ray) and uncle of Wade. Bob was loved and will be remembered by many other relatives, friends and neighbours.
Bob began working at the Arsenal in Lindsay making ammunition, then moved to work at Fisher-Gauge as a Tool & Die worker. From there he studied accounting and was invited to work at Outboard Marine as an accountant.
Bob was on the Board of Junior Achievers. He taught accounting and ran his own accounting business. He was an enthusiastic stamp collector his whole life, and was asked to appraise stamps for many auctions. He enjoyed attending auctions every week. Bob never stopped working and never ran out of energy.
He and Ruth enjoyed going up to the lot in Carnavon to garden and have big Thanksgiving dinners with family and friends.
A funeral will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 840 Armour Road, on Thursday, October 14 at 11 am, with visiting one hour prior. Interment at Ingoldsby Cemetery on Thursday at 3:30 pm.
