Obituary for Robert K. Snyder
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at C.E.E. Hospital, Petrolia. Born in Windsor, Robert “Bob” Snyder, of Petrolia, was 90 years of age. Bob was predeceased by his wife Betty (nee Rowland)(2009). Bob is survived by his children Jim and Pam of Forest, Roy and Sheryl of Petrolia and Cathy and John Lowe of Vancouver. He was a proud Poppa to Brian and Kari Snyder, Melanie Snyder, Elaine and Andrew Plowman, Jessica and Morgan Tomlinson, Kaitlyn Snyder and Shane Marostega, David Lowe and Rachael Lowe and Poppa Great Bob to Seth, Skylar, and Faith Tomlinson, Scarlett Snyder, Logan and Wally Plowman, and Mason and Ivy Marostega. Bob was the son of the late J.C. and Edith Snyder and is survived by his siblings Barbara and Don Snyder, Joyce and Casey Kurpershoek, and Gary Snyder and the late Leona. A long time Petrolia Resident, Bob spent time in his youth with the U.S Navy where he learned instrumentation, later he spent 33 years at Dow Chemical as an instrument technician where he retired in 1986. Bob was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia. To attend, registration is required in advance at signup.com/go/kGDcJMQ. A private family interment will occur at a later date in Hillsdale Cemetery.
