Obituary of Robert Francis John Favalaro
FAVALARO, Robert Francis John (Bob)
October 25, 1933 – December 25, 2021
Robert Francis John Favalaro in his 89th year, passed away peacefully on Christmas day to be dancing in heaven with his beloved wife of 40 years, Georgina “Nina” (2020). Cherished father to daughters Karen (John) Bolt and Christina Favalaro and stepsons Michael, Kevin, and Darrin Saucier. Survived by special granddaughter Cassondra Cole, and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Francesco (Frank) (1969) and Margaret (1971) Favalaro, and former spouse, Rita Favalaro (2019).
Bob will be fondly remembered by his many friends and extended family for his jovial nature, kindness, culinary skills, hospitality and his traditional Christmas Eve gatherings, always with lots of delicious food and his home canned dill pickles, pickled beets and onions. His beautiful gardens of herbs, vegetables and many splendid rose bushes will be missed by all his neighbours at the Twin Pines Co-op where he and Nina had resided for many years.
Special thanks to the staff of UH 6th Floor for the care provided, particularly Dr. Glass for her candid guidance and nurses Sydney and Mark for their abundant compassion at such a difficult time.
Visitors are welcome to John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Monday, January 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 o’clock. A service will be held on Tuesday morning, January 4th at 10 o’clock at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictions as per the Bereavement Authority of Ontario a limited number of people are able to attend the visitation and service.
