It is with deep and profound sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Robert (Bob) Joseph Groves aged 74 on Friday, October 1st, 2021 at the James Payton Memorial Hospital, Gander.
Bob is predeceased by his father, Gordon A. Groves, his mother Margaret F. Groves (nee Fulford), brothers: James (Cyril) Groves, Gordon A. Groves (Margaret), sisters Phyllis M. Parrell (Joe), Charlotte M. Crocker (Gerald); nephews Bud Crocker (Rhonda); Perry Crocker (Georgina) and Bobby Crocker.
Left to mourn daughters, Sharon (Sherri) Groves, Renay Hiscock (nee Groves) (Christopher); Leanne Clarke (nee Groves) (Bernard, “Bern”); Maggie (Margaret) Brinson; previous spouse Marie Maidment, previous spouse Ruby Coles; grand-daughters Jamie Lee Noble, Daneika Groves, Shaylyn Groves, Maddison Hiscock; grand-sons Aaron Clarke and Ali Groves; great grand-daughter Maddison Dinham and great grand-son Oliver Noble.
Also leaving to mourn an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends who he held firmly close to his heart. The family would like to thank the staff at Medical Unit B, James Paton Memorial Hospital; Busy Bee Taxi, Gander; co-workers and close friend Denise Ryan. Thank you for sharing in Dad’s journey.
Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 2 – 9 pm on Wednesday, October 6th and on Thursday, October 7th from 11 am – 4 pm, and from 6 – 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 8, 10:00 am at St. Teresa’s Parish. A link for the live stream service will be posted on the obituary page when it becomes available. Family and friends are welcome to process to the Parish from the Funeral Home on Friday, October 8th at 9:30am.
