Robert Alan Wood January 29 1938 October 8 2021

Obituary
Peacefully at home and surrounded by his family, Robert Wood passed away at the age of 83. He was the beloved husband of Doreen with whom he had recently celebrated their 50th year of marriage. Loving father of John (Gerri) and Janelle (Garrett). Cherished grandfather of Justin, Miles, Haley and Ashton.
Bob, the only child of parents John and Marjorie, was born and raised in Toronto. He began his secondary education at Trinity College and continued on to the University of New Brunswick where he earned his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. His professional career began at Westinghouse Electric Company and lead him to Edmonton, Halifax, Singapore, Calgary, and finally, Hamilton where he retired.
During his early years, he was a talented athlete excelling in hockey and pole vaulting. Later years included hobbies in boating, golf, snorkeling, scuba diving, downhill skiing, aquaria and fish keeping, bee-keeping, home-brewing, cooking, stain glass works, and gardening, to name a few.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Randy Cross and staff at Waterdown Family Medical Clinic and the staff of Qualicare Burlington for their compassionate care during his final year and providing him with the opportunity to remain comfortably at home.
Cremation has taken place and a private family Celebration of Life will be held.
In lieu of flowers, and with our appreciation, donations may be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (4-Star charity rating – michaeljfox.org).
