Bernard, Rita Lucille Age 88, of Sherbrooke, Guysborough County, and formerly of Dartmouth passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 in High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care.
She was a daughter of the late Archibald and Hazel (Zinck) Levy.
Rita was a very hard working and determined woman who worked at Historic Sherbrooke Village after her retirement as a superintendent at three apartment buildings in Dartmouth. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, darts and card games. She enjoyed outdoor activities such as gardening, fishing and hunting. She will always be remembered for her delicious fruit cakes.
Rita is survived by long-time friend, Daniel MacIntosh, Sherbrooke; daughter, Delores (Albert) Fralick, Garden Lots; sons, Captain David Walters and Eric (D. Lynn) Walters, Garden Lots; brother, Dr. Eric (Heather) Levy, Dartmouth; daughters-in-law, Wendy Walters (Gary), Garden Lots; Cynthia Stevens, Second Peninsula; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Melbourne Walters, second husband, Victor Bernard; son, Dale Walters; great-grandson, Silas Walters.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Sherbrooke. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
