Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Rita “Joan” Duplessie, wife of the late Raymond Duplessie, which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on March 8, 2021. Born in 1937, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred Harry and Florence Windlow “Winnie” (Brock) Pilmer.
Joan always stayed positive and made the most of everyday. She was a very strong woman who cherished her family more than anything. Joan had a very special place in her heart for all of her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Joan is survived by her sons Jeff (Michelle) of Hampton, NB, John (Tammy) of Kingston, NB; daughter Julie (Danny) of Sus, NB; grandchildren Sarah, Ehren, Jacob, Josie, Aurora and Aidan; great grandchildren Aylah and Jericho; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her husband and parents, Joan was predeceased by her brothers Herby, Bobby, John and Harry; sisters Dorothy and Eleanor.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Due to the ongoing pandemic, services will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Joan may be made towards the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
