It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of my father, Ric Livingstone. Who passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital. Father to Jacob Livingstone. Son of Elaine (predeceased) and Bill Livingstone, step son of Jean Livingstone. Brother to Roy Rusaw (Sherie), Becky McGowan, and Lisa Van Oostrom (Rob). Uncle to Lindsay (Alex), Kurt, Chris (Alina), and Julia (Colton), and great uncle to Roman, Bastion, Olwyn, and Felix.
He leaves behind deep rooted connections in numerous townships across southern Ontario, adopting a plethora of friends who stood by him through decades in support of his passions, interests, and hobbies. When dad wasn’t working on a new home project, he was playing guitar (self-taught), taking pictures in nature over long drives with his Ford Mustang, most times listening to Classic Rock radio – he knew nearly every song. Dad’s humour always generated great laughter, always looking towards a positive, more interesting perspective on life, stopping at nothing to try something new. His obsession to simplify and improve remained until his passing.
Dad has touched the lives of many, and will be remembered for his dare-devil-like personality growing up, to offering his handy work, friendship, and love. His biggest interest and hobby was writing and creating music with his guitar, and singing along to Classic Rock radio. Always offering his love, support, and skills. He is etched in our hearts, truly a mark of excellence.
I take this opportunity to thank his amazing caregivers, nurses, and doctors who made dad’s journey as comfortable as possible, it made all the difference.
Dad will be cremated as per his wishes. A ceremony will follow later this year in August 2021.
