GLOCKNER, Richard Michael
April 6, 1951 – May 22, 2021
Richard was born in Kingsville, ON and raised on a small mushroom farm in St. Davids, ON. He worked alongside three generations of Glockner’s to help build what was once known as Niagara Mushrooms. Although he gave up farming and found joy in the open road of trucking, his handle of” Mushroom” followed him for the rest of his life. Also to follow him was his love for jokes—he could start or end any conversation with one.
He leaves behind his family, who were his pride and joy. His dedicated wife, Agnes, “Mrs. Mushroom” (nee VanderWal), his children, Michael (Melissa), Alissa Schouten (Jasper) and his grandchildren, Natalie, Jake, Noah, Leah and Calvin.
He lived out his life in quiet faith, never fearing death and knowing that he would one day live with his Lord and Saviour.
He is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Eva Glockner.
Thank you to all the medical staff for their support throughout his time with them, and to the nurses at the Niagara Falls Kidney Care Center for caring for Richard. Those four days of dialysis every week were often the only social outings that he had. We appreciated the stories that were shared with him and with us.
Arrangements entrusted to Morse & Son Funeral Home. Due to the current pandemic restrictions, there will be no public funeral service. A private family graveside will be held. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com.
