Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and sadness we announce the passing of Richard John Prestayko on November 1st, 2021. Rick passed peacefully with his wife and son at his side.
Rick was the son of John and Victoria (Federowich) Prestayko of Valley River.
Left to cherish fond memories of a life well lived is his soulmate Brenda and his son Derek. He is also survived by his brother Ken (Evelyn) Prestayko; sister Chris Rushinka; mother and father-in-law Al & Jean Kindret; brothers and sisters-in-law Bill and Wendy Brenner, Jim and Heather Kindret, Carla and Randy Hlady; many nieces and nephews; 5 godchildren and extended family.
Rick and Brenda fell in love and married on September 2, 1978. They were blessed with 2 beautiful healthy sons. Derek born October 17, 1984 and Adam born November 17, 1986.
Tragedy struck in July 2011 with the passing of their son, Adam. May he rest in peace. Shortly after Rick fell ill and with the strength of his beloved Brenda and Derek, friends, and family he fought a brave fight. He was also predeceased by his parents John and Victoria and brother-in-law Eugene.
If friends so desire donations in memory of Rick may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Private services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, MB. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB.
