Peacefully at the Souris Hospital on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, Richard “Dick” Fredrick Lutz passed away with his loving family by his side. He was aged 77 years of St. Margaret’s, PE. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Anne (nee Deagle) and will be forever loved and missed by his children Linda-Lee Hickey (Ron), Tracy Lutz, Dwayne (Paula), Darren (Paula) and Heidi Lutz. He will be remembered as a caring and dear Poppy to Ronnie, Amy, Nathan (Laura), Alyssa, Haley, Maria, Fabienne, Abby and Jack. Survived by his siblings Joan MacIntosh, Dorothy MacSwain, Rita Lutz, Edward (Fern), Linda Lutz, brothers-in-law Charles Mason and Francis Tang and also missed by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Predeceased by his parents Charles and Gertrude (nee Jennings) Lutz, parents-in-law Melvin and Florence Deagle, siblings Doreen Mason, Ken, Bob, Pat Tang, infant siblings Blanche and Roland, brothers-in-law John MacIntosh, Lester MacSwain and sisters-in-law Marion and Hazel Lutz. The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care that was given to Richard during his stay at the Souris Hospital. Their warmth and compassion will always be remembered.
Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home where visiting hours will take place for immediate family and friends. A funeral mass will be held at the St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Due to public health restrictions, all services are by invitation only. If so desired, donations made to the Eastern Kings Health Foundation (Souris Hospital) or the Alzheimer Society of PEI would be greatly appreciated by the family.
