CÔTÉ, Richard “Dick” Joseph Homar
Passed away at Fairhaven Long Term Care on June 23, 2021 in his 86th year. Loving husband of Bernice (nee Rosborough) for 54 years. Beloved son of the late Joseph Cote and Cyrila St. Croix. Dear brother of Eugene (Cecila), Harry (Sherry) and sister-in-law Marietta. Pre deceased by brothers Maurice (2021) (Ann Marie 2017), Roland (2001), Felix (1987) and Wilfred (2006). Brother-in-law to Warren (Brenda) Rosborough. Pre deceased by Wayne Rosborough (2018)(Majda), Donald Hutchinson (2009) and Maurietta (2020). Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends
Dick was born and raised in Dunrea, Manitoba the moved to Dryden where he met Bernice. He moved to Peterborough in 1973 and bought Rosborough Wholesale Sporting Goods, which he owned for 25 years. In retirement he worked at St. Anne’s Church for 17 years. He was an avid curler and loved to fish and hunt. Dick was very active with the Knights of Columbus St. Anne’s Council and served as Grand Knight. Member of the Fourth Degree Knights Council #882 and past Governor and Life Member of the Moose Lodge Lindsay and Past Deputy Governor and life member of the Peterborough Lions Club. He also sang with the Golden Tones.
A Memorial Mass to be held at St. Anne’s Church, 859 Barnardo Avenue on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at 1pm. DUE TO COVID 19 REGULATIONS, REGISTRATION FOR THE SERVICE IS REQUIRED and you may RSVP on Dick’s obituary page. Interment Lakefield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Five Counties Children’s Centre or an organization of your choice would be appreciated. Online condolences may be left at AsburnhamFuneral.ca
