Obituary for the late Bud (Rex Kenneth) McKay
October 2, 1953 – June 4, 2021
It is with great sadness the family of Bud (Rex Kenneth) McKay announce his passing on June 4, 2021, at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls NL at the age of 67 years. He will be missed by his wife Mavis, Daughter; Jennifer (Gerry), Son; Corey, Grandchildren; Julie, Rose Joelle, Rebecca, Johnny, Daniel, Joshua, Judah, Joel, Caleb, Nathan, Great Grandchildren; Maddi, Benjamin, Gavin, Brothers; Selby (Geraldine), Warrick (Ruth), Bax (Fanny), Sisters; Daisy (Ernest), Eileen, Joan (Ford), Cora, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 30 years Joy (Hillier), Parents; Harold and Eva Wiseman, Father-In-Law Allan Hillier, Brothers; Mike, Pat and Lewis.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private visitation will be held at Fillatres Funeral Home, Happy Valley Goose Bay, Thursday, June 10, 2-4 and 7-9. A private funeral service will be held Friday, June 11, at 2pm from the Salvation Church with Major Byron Kean officiating with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Special thanks to the staff of Springdale Hospital and Central Health Grand Falls.
