Holbrough, Carmen Joseph – November 29, 1938 – January 20th, 2021
Carmen died peacefully in his sleep with family by his side after a long, courageous journey with Alzheimer’s; He is survived by his wife of Noreen (Logan) for 60 years. Father of Paul (Kelly), Jeff (Kelly), and Chris (Darrell) – Grandfather of Jennie (Michael), Allie (Brett), Tommy, Laura, Dean, Megan (Cody) – Great Grandpa to Liam, Georgia, Wyatt, and Ollie. Carmen will also be fondly remembered by Sue Harrison.
Carmen was a United Church Minister for 50 years and served congregations in Saskatchewan and across Ontario, also serving a term as President of the London Conference of the United Church of Canada. Carmen was very community minded and served as the President of Kiwanis, President of Choralaires, and Chair of the Alexandra Hospital Foundation.
Carmen loved life and had a contagious laugh and smile. He enjoyed music and brightened any room with his singing. Carmen loved sports and was a member of the Ingersoll Curling Club. He loved people and spent many mornings with his friends at Tim Hortons. Carmen was an advocate for Alzheimer’s awareness and was always willing to share his experiences with others.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Oxford, Trinity United Church, and Alexandra Hospital Foundation.
Cremation has taken place and due to COVID-19, a private family service will be held. Inurnment will take place at Chesterfield Cemetery.
