On Friday, March 12, 2021, Remi Van De Slyke, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away at the L.H.S.C. – University Campus, London, at the age of 82. Remi was born in Simcoe, Ontario to the late Frank and Madeleine (De Bie) Van De Slyke. For many years, Remi farmed tobacco alongside his much-loved wife of 51 years, Julie (Socha) Van De Slyke. A member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Langton. Remi will be remembered by many for his quick wit and his enjoyment of neighbourly socializing. These traits were often displayed when bowling, playing ‘wiezen’ or darts. Remi was an associate member of the Tillsonburg Legion Branch #153 since 1974, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #11727, Langton and he perennially enjoyed the accompaniment of good friends and food at breakfast clubs. Remi will be greatly missed by his children Frank (Lisa), of Tillsonburg, Remi Paul (Martha), of Straffordville; Brian (Jill), of Straffordville and by his grandchildren. Remi was excited about his soon-to-be born grandchild. Remi is survived by nieces and nephews in Canada and by cousins in Belgium.
