1933-2021
Reilly Henry Steeves, 87, of Boundary Creek,
passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Moncton Hospital. Born
in Steeves Mountain, he was the son of the late Zenas and Dollie
(Hicks) Steeves.
Reilly was a farmer raising beef cattle
and pigs and also a dealer in horses and Tack Supplies. He farmed on
the Salisbury Road for 50 years, then moved to Lower Mountain Road to
take over his father’s farm. Reilly loved to farm right up until his
retirement in 2012. He liked to travel to the U.S.A. buying horses
with his friend Joc Tilton and he also enjoyed touring the country
side, especially Prosser Brook, and loved being with his
family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Roberta
(Fawcett); children, Marlene Scott (Rick), Shirley O’Blenis (Jeff) and
Keith (Jillian); daughter-in-law, Debra Steeves; cherished
grandchildren, Kate, Erik, Jamie, Nathan, Curtis, Mitchell, Natasha,
Miranda, Zenas-Jordan; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Reid
Steeves (Ruth); sisters, Joyce Steeves (Steadman), Nita Steeves,
Stella Quartermain (Art), Eva Garnier (late Ernest); several nieces
and nephews. Predeceased by his son, Brian; brothers, Raymond and
Allen Steeves.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family
service will be held at the Salisbury Funeral Home(372-4800). A
web-link to livestream the service will appear on the funeral home
website on Monday, January 18 at 1 p.m. Interment at Fair Haven
Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff of the
Driscoll Unit Extra Mural and the staff of the new Grass Home,
Riverview.
If desired, donations to the Red Cross or the
Shriners Hospitals for Children would be appreciated by the
family.
