Reginald (Reg) Johnson Skidmore, age 88, Trenton, passed away
peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, August 22, at the
Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow.
Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late Harold and
Gertrude (Lloyd) Skidmore.
Reg grew up in the Bull Pen in Stellarton and was a proud
member of Boilermakers Local 73.
He served in the Army with a deployment in Germany in the
1950s. His favourite things to do were sitting on his front deck with
his love, Eva, and spending time with his son, Scott.
He is survived by his son, Scott (Sheryl Chisholm); sister,
Helen (Hughie) MacDonald; many nieces and nephews; loving partner, Eva
Dee, and Eva’s wonderful family. Besides his parents, Reg was
predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Rose (Zatylny); brothers, Kenny
and Jim (Margie); sister, Bernice (Geordie) White.
Cremation has taken place. To honour
Reg’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
Donations in his memory can be made to the Aberdeen Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral
Home.
