Obituary of Raymond Strickland
STRICKLAND, Ray
Scotsburn
It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather, Raymond Strickland of Scotsburn, Nova Scotia, on Monday August 9, 2021. Ray was also a devoted son, brother, uncle, and brother-in-law. Born in North Sydney on March 6, 1952, Ray was educated in North Sydney schools and the N.S. Eastern Institute of Technology. His lifetime employment was spent at Michelin Canada, where he worked for approximately 40 years. With his electrical technology training and innate knowledge Ray’s career took him through many varied positions at Michelin, which he relished. Ray was a lifelong hobbyist of many pursuits, his most loved being fine carpentry and photography, for which he was well known. Ray is survived by his wife, Suzanne; sons, Tye (Nhui) of Scotsburn and Peter (Sarah) of Nanaimo, BC; grandsons, Noah and Dylan, of Nanaimo; also his mother, Clara of New Glasgow; and brother Richard (JoAnne) of Three Brooks; devoted sister-in-law, Sara Lamond (Tom Dunn) of Sydney Mines; and extended Lamond family. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation with a private family interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Society of Pictou County would be appreciated.

This is to have succeeded.”
–Ralph Waldo Emerson
