Obituary of Raymond Francis MacLean, Scotchtown
It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Raymond Francis MacLean on June 4th, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with his son Troy by his side.
Raymond was a loving and caring person to those he held dear. He was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker. He loved watching harness racing on his laptop and always rooted for his favorite driver. He held a special place in his heart for the many international students that he and his wife hosted over the years. He shared special memories with each and every one.
Ray is survived by his wife, Maureen (Grant); sons, Troy and Trevor; daughters, Shelly, Karen and Raylean and his grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Janice, Phyllis, and Marilyn, and by brothers, Lawrence, Robert and Leo.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Hanna (Cole) MacLean; brother, Damien and by his first wife, Agnes.
There will be no visitation. A service for family only will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel at a later date with Father Peter McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, River Ryan. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
Fly high with the angels, Ray. Til we meet again.
Maureen
