Obituary of Raymond Alvin Jordan
Raymond Alvin Jordan, 83 of Riverton, NS, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, at the VG Hospital, Halifax on Saturday June 12, 2021.
Raymond, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather was born in Goldenville, Guysborough County, N.S. In his early years Raymond loved working on his grandparent’s farm with his cousins in Smithfield. In his adolescence Raymond spent a lot of time in Little Narrows and Lake Ainslie, where he formed a fondness for Cape Breton Island and the Gaelic language.
Raymond joined the military at the age of 17 and married the love of his life Camella shortly after. Raymond and Camella were blessed with 3 daughters, Tammey, Kim and Heidie. Raymond spent 20 years in the military where he had the fortune of travelling abroad with his wife and kids. Raymond retired from the military and joined the employ of Michelin Tire in Granton N.S, where he completed his career and retired with 20 years of service in the tire industry. Besides the love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Raymond loved fishing, hunting and driving his side by side.
Raymond is survived by his children: Tammey (Dave) Geldart, Riverton N.S. Kim (Dale) Scanlan, Whiteside N.S. Heidie (Bert) Meyer, Springville, N.S. Grandchildren: Ryan (Jillian) Geldart, Ian (Susanne) Ross, Madelaine (Jakeel) Ross, Makayla Scanlan, Allana Scanlan, Adam Meyer, Sienna Meyer, Emma Meyer. Great-Grandchildren: Claire and Olivia Geldart, Lincoln Ross, Bella Scanlan. Step siblings: Sandy and Linda Stephenson, many nieces and nephews and his special pet Zoe.
Raymond was predeceased by his wife Camella, mother Edith Jordan, stepfather Eldon Jordan, biological father Alvin Jordan, brother Carl (Melba) Jordan, nephew Raymond Jordan and two brothers who died in infancy.
Raymond will be sadly missed and live forever in our hearts and our minds!
A special thanks goes out to his family doctor, Doctor Bashar, the management and staff at Poulains Pharmacy, Stellarton and all the doctors and nurses on 6A and the ICU at the VG hospital, Halifax that helped Raymond through his journey.
Memorial donations can be made to the local branch of the SPCA, the Palliative care unit at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, N.S, or The Molly Appeal.
