Raymond Murray Stephens 1940 2021

Stephens, Raymond Murray, age
81, of Antigonish Harbour passed away suddenly at Saint
Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish on October 21,
2021.
Born in East Green Harbour, Lockeport, Shelburne County, he
was the son of the Late Murray and Hilda Stephens.
Throughout his working life Ray was a car salesperson, held
various positions in Halifax and recently worked in the automotive and
sports department at Walmart in Antigonish. He was a former member of
the Lockeport Baptist Church. Ray was a loyal Boston Red Sox
fan and enjoyed watching them with much advice and opinions directed
at the television. He also liked a good game of auction when
someone dropped by followed by tea and a “light”
lunch. He mowed numerous lawns in the summer and took pride
in doing a great job.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette (Chisholm-Mahoney) and
daughter Darlene Mahoney, Ottawa. Ray will also be greatly
missed by his extended family, Joan (late Bernard) Chisholm; Donald
(Ann) Chisholm, Joan (Albert) Chisholm; Donna (late John A.) Chisholm
and many nieces and nephews also special family friends, Catherine
Cameron, Cedar, Hazel and Alder.
Our appreciation to all the help and assistance we received
from the Canadian Tire Gas Bar staff, EHS paramedics, and
doctors and nurses at St. Martha’s Regional
Hospital.
Memorial service will be held at a later date in East Green
Harbour with burial in Farrington Cemetery. Memorial donations may be
made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova
Scotia.
