YUNGBLUT, Raymond Henry “Ray”, 87, of Tavistock passed away peacefully with family by his side at Stratford General Hospital on Sunday, August 15, 2021.
Ray was born in South Easthope Township, Perth County on October 21, 1933 a son of the late William and Catherine “Katie” (Schlattman) Youngblut.
Ray had worked at Imperial and Krug furniture manufacturing companies for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sebastopol-Tavistock.
Ray married the former Edith Kay Erb on August 1, 1958. She predeceased him on July 27, 2017. He is survived by his son, Steve Yungblut and special friend Jennifer; his daughter, Krista Stock; five granddaughters, Jessica Yungblut, Jillian Yungblut and special friend Mike Moore, Sarah Yungblut, Kacie Neal and special friend Brian Opersko, Brianna Neal and special friend Chad Reitzel; great grandson, Thomas Moore; sisters-in-law, Corrine Yungblut, Karen Pfaff and Pauline Erb; brother-in-law, Pierre Garant.
He was predeceased by his great granddaughter, Lillian Moore; his sister, Margaret Rose Garant; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Kathy Yungblut, Peter and Rose Yungblut and Leonard Yungblut; brothers-in-law, David Erb, Larry Erb and Grant Pfaff; sister-in-law, Carol Erb.
A private family graveside service and burial will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Sebastopol-Tavistock. The Rev. Richard P. Brown will officiate.
Relatives and friends are invited to a “Celebration of Ray’s Life” at his residence, 10 Queen Street, Tavistock on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 2-4 p.m.
