Obituary
Fasthuber, Ralph Alois
August 14, 1948 – July 12, 2021
Ralph passed away suddenly at home on Monday, July 12th. He was 72 years old. He was born in Wels, Austria, and immigrated to Canada with his mother in 1949. His father followed in 1952.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Alois Fasthuber, mother-in-law Helena Hamm, father-in-law Peter Hamm, step-father-in-law Mario Cech, and his beloved grandson Andrew Fasthuber.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 51 years, Corinne, his children Jonathan (Karla), Jon’s children Dyllian and Matthew, Karla’s children Jeremy and Kailey, his daughter Jenn Hysuick (Travis) and their son Alexander. His family was his world, and he was our rock. He was so proud of his children’s accomplishments in life, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up.
Ralph had a successful career with the Saskatoon Police Department for 32 years. He retired with the rank of Sergeant in 2001, and enjoyed many years of retired bliss at the cabin. He was an avid fisherman and hunter using bow, muzzle loader and high powered rifle. His favourite hunting companion was Tim Wake whom he’d known since childhood.
Ralph and Corinne built a cabin from the ground up at Candle Lake in 1986. He enjoyed being there and many fond memories were made with his entire family. It was at the cabin where he passed on his love of fishing to his children, spending hours on the boat eating sunflower seeds and catching supper. Many friends were made at the lake, who we all still cherish today.
He suffered from a myriad of ailments over the course of the last several years but was closely monitored by his family physician, Dr. Cyprian Enweani, upon whom he had the utmost faith in. Thank you so much Dr. Enweani!
We all will miss you like crazy but are so comforted that you went quickly and are now at peace. We will love you forever. Ralph’s ashes will be buried in a lovely rural cemetery, near Dundurn, SK, at a later date.
