Ralph DONALD Kinney
1957-2021
After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, R. Donald Kinney
passed away peacefully on March 4, 2021 at Dr. Everett Chalmers
Hospital. He was born on April 5, 1957 in Harvey, NB, son of the late
Donald and Shirley (Speight) Kinney.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a younger brother
Dwayne.
Don is survived by his spouse Elaine; sisters Donna Johnston (Bill),
Ann Kinney, Linda Scott (Terry) and Jimmy Kinney (Sherry); a
sister-in-law Monica Hood (George); several nieces and nephews.
In his early years, Don owned and operated McAdam Insurance Services.
During these years, he met many people and his outgoing personality
working with people led him to politics, where he served as MLA for
York until 2003.
His entrepreneurial skills and love of billiards led him to pursue and
operate Racks where he met and made many friends. He later worked at
carpentry in Alberta and Saskatchewan before retiring.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Saint John
Regional Oncology and also 4SE Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital during
his stay there. A special thank you to Dr. Frances MacDougall whose

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Don, the family has
suggested the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of the donor’s
