Obituary of Rae Louis Axford
At home, in Dutton, surrounded by his loving family, Rae Louis Axford, formerly of Rodney at the age of 90. Predeceased by his darling wife, Joyce Axford (Schneider) in 2007.
Dear father of Geoffrey (Linda) and Terry (Maxine) and predeceased by his son Michael Axford in 1980.
Proud grandpa of Shalimar (Michael), Mitchell (Mallory), Alana Rae and Forrest. Great grandpa of Israel Sudfelt and Torren Axford.
Survived by his sisters Plezzie (John) Ferrier and Sheila (Cyril) Baker, sister in law Geraldine Axford and brothers in law Karl (Ann) Schneider and Walter (Sue) Schneider. Predeceased by his brother Maxwell Axford and his parents Israel and Geneva Axford.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Rae retired after a distinguished career as a teacher at schools across Elgin county. Rae had many passions that he loved to share with his many friends. Whether it be teaching hunter safety, trapping, hunting, trap shooting, playing baseball until the age of 70 or simply visiting with neighbours at the coffee shop, Rae left an impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Friends are welcome to join the family in celebrating Rae’s life on Thursday, December 2nd, 2021 at Denning’s of Rodney. To attend the visitation, please click here
