Preston Deryn nee Walton May 21st 2021

Preston, Deryn (née Walton)
May 21st, 2021
On Friday, May 21, 2021 peacefully in London, Ontario after living with cancer of multiple types for many years. Only daughter of Vera (VeeVee) and Leonard (Joe), born on March 3, 1938 in Wallasey, UK. Mother of two sons, Andrew Bevan and Simon Bevan (Laurie Bevan), and loving grandmother (DeDe) to Scott, Emily, Gillian, Lindsay, Rachel, Owen and Oscar.
Immigrated to Canada from Monxton, Hampshire, UK in 1980, making friends everywhere she settled and beyond, in Montreal, Oakville, Toronto, Port Elgin, Brechin, and London. Later in life spent her time between her beloved cottage on French Bay, Lake Huron and West Kirby in the UK. Deryn was a devoted fisherwoman and golfer who always knew where her next drink could be found, and with whom: May the fish be biting, and the course be ever opening up.
Many thanks to all who cared for her at Longworth Retirement Residence in London in recent years, and the superb medical staff at St. Joe’s and the Victoria Palliative unit in the last few weeks, particularly the nurses who always amaze. Due to COVID-19 restrictions a small family service is being held. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Joseph’s Hospice in London would be appreciated.
