Pieter was born in Marken, Holland and came to Canada in 1963 to work at the Collingwood Shipyards, first as a Draftsman in the Drawing Office and then as the Foreman of the Joiner Shop.
Pieter’s passion was woodworking with outstanding skills in carving. Pieter loved to volunteer and spent much time driving for the Red Cross and on many mission trips working on Hurricane Relief with the DRS Disaster Response Site with the Christian Reformed Church.
His warm smile and wonderful singing voice will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew him.
