Hoyle-Mood, Phyllis Hope — 90, of North Kemptville, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2020, at The Meadows Home for Special Care, Yarmouth, with her niece Carolyn by her side. She was born in North Kemptville, Yarmouth County, and the daughter of the late Robie and Florence (Hurlburt) Prout. She is survived by her sons Douglas, Innisfil, Ontario; Timothy (Sandra), Ajax, Ontario; and Jeffery, Oshawa, Ontario; and sisters Pearl Prime of Lake Echo and East Pubnico; and Hazel (Roger) Cosman- Mood, East Kemptville; and grandchildren Misti, Jason, Matthew (Sara-Kate), and David (Laura) Hoyle. Also, her step-son Carl (Nancy) Mood of Cobourg, Ontario. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth Hoyle, son Patrick, and her second husband, Wilfred Mood. She was also predeceased by her brothers William, Paul and Malcolm Prout, and her sisters, Marjorie Messom and Jean Prime. She taught schools in North Range, Digby County, Richmond, and Pleasant Valley, Yarmouth County before moving to Ontario. She graduated from Centennial College, Scarborough, Ontario. She and her husband Kenneth retired to North Kemptville to help in the care of loved ones. She was a member of the Kemptville United Baptist Church, a member of the Kemptville Women’s Institute, and volunteered on 2nd and 3rd Medical at the Yarmouth Regional Health Centre. She loved her Lord and was a lady of great faith. She was involved in various church activities, gardening, reading, swimming, and entertaining family and friends at her home. She enjoyed the peace and quiet of her beautiful village of North Kempt, after many years living in Toronto. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at 2 P.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. James Rhyno officiating. Interment will follow at The Hatfield Memorial Cemetery, North Kemptville. The family also gratefully acknowledges the support and loving care of their mother while a resident at the Meadows Home for Special Care. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory can be made to the Kemptville United Baptist Church or the Hatfield Memorial Cemetery.
