Phyllis was born in Comox, B.C. on February 7, 1932 and grew up in Merville, close to Courtney, she
passed away April 9, 2021 at Cerwydden Care in Duncan, B.C.
She married Bob Bennie on July 6, 1951 and they had 3 beautiful children before they moved to
Duncan in 1964 from Courtney, and now have 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Phyllis loved sewing, crafts, knitting, playing cards, bowling, bingo, horseshoes and going for
walks. She was a great cook and baker and loved to build gingerbread houses at Christmas time.
Phyllis loved RV trips to Parksville, camping in the cabin at Comox Lake, trips to England, Scotland,
Europe and Reno.
Survived by her loving husband Bob Bennie, daughter Cathy (Reg) Strang, son Doug (Joan) Bennie,
5 grandchildren Larry, Brenda, Heather, Leah, Ian and 11 great grandchildren, brother Tom (Brenda)
Willson, nieces and nephews.
Pre-deceased by her parents Arthur & Bessie Willson, sisters Dot and Marian, brother Arthur,
grandson Bob Strang and daughter Margaret Strang.
Phyllis was a very loved wife, mother and grandma, and will be deeply missed by all her family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Cerwydden Care.
There will be no service by request.
