Phyllis Beatrice Fowler
1934-2021
Phyllis Beatrice Fowler, 87, of Fundy Royal Manor (formerly
of Moncton, NB) passed away peacefully on October 29th, 2021 at the
Moncton City Hospital with her loving family by her
side.
Phyllis was born in Hillsborough,
daughter of the late Harry and Jessie (Steeves)
Wilson.
Phyllis was a loving wife,
mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She saw the
responsibilities before her, and took great pride in providing a safe
and comforting home for her family. She had a passion for
baking, cooking, tole painting, crocheting, and knitting. She would
proudly share her creations with her family and
friends. Phyllis was faithful, and very involved in
her community. She was a member of the Vision’s United Church in
Moncton, supported local BINGO nights, and any other community event
that her husband, Daniel, was involved in. Phyllis
shared a love of travelling and nature with her husband, Daniel, for
57 years. They travelled throughout the US, and Canada visiting their
family and other close relatives. Upon retirement, they
started the Nash Bar Lodge on the Miramichi River near Blackville
and welcomed each of their guests with kindness and
hospitality. They pursued this adventure for 10 years.
Phyllis was a special woman who put family before herself,
and had the strong will to do whatever needed to be done.
She left this legacy to her children, and felt blessed to have them by
her side as her health deteriorated.
“Of all the special joys in life, the big ones and the small, a
mother’s love and tenderness is the greatest of them
all.”
She will be deeply missed by her
children, Shane (Rita) of Ottawa, Sharon Wells (Ralph) of Hopewell
Hill, and Terry Fowler (Linda Bourque) of Moncton; treasured
grandchildren, Leslie Lepage (Mike), Bradley Fowler, Melissa, John,
and Daniel Wells (Holly), Brennan and Daniel Fowler; great
grandchildren, Coralie and Audrey, Isabella and Jack, and Christopher;
sister, Bonnie Grande (Joe) of Mississauga, ON; brother, Charlie
Wilson (Grace) of Hillsborough; sister-in-law, Janet Wilson of
Hillsborough; and brother-in-law, Merrill Nelson of Sus.
She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews, by all her
extended family, and close friends.
Beside her parents, she was
predeceased by sisters, Marion McGowan (Ike), Barbara Wilson, Dorothy
Nelson; and brothers, David Wilson and Conrad Wilson
(Susie).
A Private Memorial Service and
Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Internment will be held in the Grey’s Island Cemetery,
Hillsborough, NB
In lieu of flowers, donations in her
memory can be made to Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, Canadian Diabetes
Association, or a charity of donor’s choice would be greatly
appreciated by the family.
