Peter Johannes Virkki Sunday December 5th 2021

The family announces with deep sorrow the passing of Peter Virkki, at Health Sciences North on Monday, December 6, 2021, at the age of 58. Son of Oiva and Maire (Koivulahti) Virkki both predeceased. He leaves behind the love of his life Kim Puchek and their son Ben Puchek (Kelly Niemi). He was the proud and loving Pappa of Benny Puchek. He will be greatly missed by sister Marian Hopton (David) of Sudbury, and brother John Virkki (Karen Meena) of Lac la Biche, Alberta. Will be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Blossom Puchek and sisters and brothers-in-law Deb & Jim Johnston and Shelley and Dave Johnston and his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Peter was a creative and skillful carpenter, wood worker and general jack of all trades. There was nothing he couldn’t build or fix. His greatest accomplishment was the beautiful home he built for his family in Lively. He enjoyed nature and loved spending time at his summer place on Lake Manitou on Manitoulin Island. Peter was a thoughtful and caring person who was always concerned for the well being of his loved ones. Most importantly, Peter lived his life his way – right to the very end. We will always love you and miss you Peter. At his request, there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Donations to the Sudbury Food Bank would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
