Percy Charles Byard – 60, Truro, passed away
peacefully on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, in Truro. Born in Truro, he
was a son of the late Leonard and Norma (Sheppard)
Byard.
Percy is survived by his siblings, Ingram “Butch”
(Marion) Byard, Nova Byard (Steve Stunell), Belinda (Tom) Bennicke,
Kim Byard, Mary Byard, Freeman (Cheryl) Byard; several nieces, nephews
and cousins. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his
siblings, Leonard Byard, Norma Jane Clyke.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Percy’s
family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2021.
(Please use the front double doors of the funeral home, wear a mask,
register and practice physical distancing.) Funeral service will be
held 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Mattatall – Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, Pastor Brian O. Johnston
officiating.
(Due to
Covid-19 restrictions, seating is limited and you must pre-register to
attend the funeral service by calling 902-893-3177; thank you for your
cooperation and understanding. Webcasting of the funeral
service will begin at 1:55 p.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021 and will
remain on this site for some time.) Interment
in Robie Street Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro. If so desired,
donations in Percy’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation
are welcomed.
