Obituary of Pauline Heise
It is with great sadness that we announce Pauline’s passing on September 24, 2021 at the age of 94 years. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Martin; son Kenny; parents, Frank and Rosina; seven brothers and seven sisters. She is survived by sons, Rod (Janice) and Randy (June); daughter Lynne (Gene Yorke) Berry; son Bruce; grandchildren, Sarah, Shaun, Kent, Tyler, Laura, Jeanine, Mark and Shannon; and great-grandchildren, Jaden, Rylan, Caelan, Haiden, Emmett, Aidan and Ava. Pauline was born on the family farm east of Holdfast on October 11, 1926 and was the youngest of 15 children. She attended school at Lake Shore District School and Holdfast. In 1947 she met Martin Heise and they married the next year and settled in Colfax where Martin was employed by the Federal Grain Company. They were active in Colfax social activities including curling, dancing and assisting with community events. Pauline and Martin were blessed with five children, but the family was devastated in 1967 by the death of son and brother, Kenny, at the age of 11. In December, 1972, Pauline, Martin and Bruce moved to Summerberry, SK where Martin was employed by the Wheat Pool. As before, they adapted and fit in well with the local community making lifelong friendships. In 1981 they moved to Regina. Pauline quickly got a job with Zellers, her first employment since working with Robert Simpsons before marrying Martin. She worked many years with Zellers while finding time to enjoy her grandchildren, spending time with friends and taking walks with Martin. A number of trips were taken to Alberta and British Columbia to visit family and several bus trips were taken around Canada and the U.S., always with other family members or friends. In 2004 Pauline and Martin moved to the Atrium condo building in South Regina where Pauline kept busy with bowling and cards. They remained there until 2014 when life became too challenging on their own, so they settled in at the Victoria Park Care Home. They were together until Martin passed. Pauline lived out her remaining years at VP watching tv and reading the newspaper. She never complained or was a burden to her family. At the end, Pauline looked forward to being with Martin and Kenny once again. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care of Mom and the many kindnesses they showed to us during this difficult time. A celebration of Pauline’s life will take place at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Masks will be required at the service. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those so wishing may make memorial donations in Pauline’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Pauline
