Obituary
With great sadness we announce the passing of Pauline Anne Starodub, 96, on December 24, 2021. Pauline was born in Gonor, Manitoba on April 4, 1925. She spent most of her life in Gonor, then moved to Selkirk.
Pauline was predeceased by her parents Walter and Mary Shajeski, her husband Peter, her son Mark, her son-in-law Louis, and her brother Henry. She is survived by her daughters Joanne and Maryanne, her sons Peter (Jacquie), Gregory (Lorraine), daughter-in-law Charlene, grandchildren Elizabeth, Caitlin, and Georgia, and many nieces and nephews.
Pauline was a wonderful cook, always giving a doggie bag to her children. We will miss her many recipes which always ended up being the best.
Pauline worked as the postmaster in Gonor and later was a cashier at the Safeway in Selkirk. She was a member of the Women’s Catholic League at Notre Dame church where she enjoyed cooking for countless church events.
After a lengthy illness, she resided at Red River Place and we would like to thank all the nurses at Red River Place for taking such good care of our mother.
A memorial mass and interment will be held at a later date.
Private cremation has taken place. No flowers – donations may be made to the no kill animal shelter of your choice.
