Obituary of Paul Farkas
With great sadness and profound love, we announce the passing of our dear Dad and Papa in his 94th year on November 21st, 2021 at his residence in AMICA Georgetown.
Paul immigrated to Canada in 1950 after bravely escaping from Russian controlled Hungary and spending a year in a displaced persons camp in Austria. His life in Canada started in Halifax with ten dollars in his pocket and a train ticket to Niagara Falls, where he met and married his beautiful Mary in 1954. Paul had a long, well respected and distinguished career in locksmithing, security and detention equipment working with Taylor Safes, Mosler & Taylor, Chubb and consulting for Strongbar Industries Inc.
Paul also volunteered with the Red Cross and the Heart and Stroke Society, was kind and gentle and left everyone that he met with a feeling of their own importance.
Devoted husband to Mary (predeceased). Loving father of Linda Davis (predeceased), Victor Farkas (Shelagh Fitzpatrick), Donald (Nancy) Farkas and Peter (Angela) Farkas. Loving grandfather of Alex, Alyssa, Taylor, Andrea, Leanne and Tori.
We wish to thank the wonderfully kind and caring Amica friends and staff.
Cremation has taken place as per Paul’s wishes.
A family graveside memorial service will be held for both Paul and Mary in Niagara Falls at their family plot next Spring.
Rest in Peace Papa, we will love you and miss you always and will hold you close in our hearts forever.
Memorial contributions to The Heart and Stroke Foundation are greatly appreciated by the family.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Paul Farkas 2021..
