Obituary of Patrick “Pat” Vincent Cooke
Passed peaefully away with family by his side at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Patrick Vincent Cooke, at the age of 76 years. He leaves to mourn his son, Patrick Bowers; step-sons, John Bowers, Ross (Renee) Bowers, and Paul (Michelle) Bowers; daughters, Andrea Pearce, Patrica Bowers, and Joanna Bowers; and step-daughter, Debbie (Don) Bowers. Also left to mourn, the mother of his children, Ann Bowers; sisters, Shelia Roche, Patrica Mercer, Ken Mercer, and Jose Wade; brother, Cyril (Margaret) Cooke; grandchildren, Amy Bowers, Jane Potter, Desiree Bowers, Vanessa Bowers, and Josue Bowers; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jordyn and Kayden; as well as a circle of other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Patrick V. Cooke and Mary Antle Cooke; and brothers-in-law, Alf Roche, and Leo Wade.
Pat was an Oil Truck Driver for many years, as well as a Bar Owner. He found his most favorable job was driving trucks with a great group of people in Alberta. His lifes passions included fishing and hunting with friends. He would often talk about the times he spent guiding hunters as a teenager, all of the friends he had made, and how much he missed the ones that had passed. He loved to socialize in general, and he loved being around people. He will be greatly missed by all those that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Public visitation will take place on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 12pm-2pm at Hoskins Funeral Home in Grand Falls-Windsor. A private family service will take place after the visitation. Both events will follow all current public health guidelines regarding COVID-19.
Donations can be made to the SPCA in Pats memory.
