Justin Cronin wrote, “As Long as we remember a person, they are not really gone. Their thoughts, their feelings, their memories, they become part of us. “
On May 3rd, 2021 Patrick Bernard Allison was called home, God came for his son. He was 65. For us, he was taken too soon and too fast. He was admitted to the hospital, though we all had high hopes he would come home. God had a different plan and needed Patrick with him. The world around us has changed and made grieving for a loved one very difficult. Sickness has become us, and we learn to cope from a distance. Even though Patrick passed away on May 3rd, his spirit, passion, and wise words live on through us. He is forever in our hearts. Patrick lived his life so deeply and knew god. He was not afraid. Goodbyes are only for those who loved with their eyes because ones who love with their heart and soul, there is never a goodbye. Until we meet again.
In addition to his loving wife Diana Allison, Patrick is survived by his grateful children Duane, Zorina and Ryan Allison. Along with his 5 granddaughters, Cheyenne, Tayah, Avery, Layla, and Isabella. Patrick was a provider, and always made sure his family was taken care of. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye, and he would always say children were a blessing to his life.
Patrick was born in Georgetown, Guyana on August 21, 1955. He came to Canada in 1971. Son to his late mother Mavis Bacchus. He leaves behind his many nieces and nephews as well as his siblings Stan Allison, Bert Allison, Beatrice Sealy, Elizabeth Bacheu, Hazel Allison, and Barbara Austin. Patrick was the second youngest.
He was a man of many trades and would tell anyone proudly. Patrick worked for York Region, in housing operations. He enjoyed so many things in life. Such as fishing, hunting, and the sunrise on his morning walks with the dog. He found Solace with nature. He was always smiling, making jokes, and always wanted to make someone else feel the same joy he did.
“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” Helen Keller
