LAKE, Patricia Joyce – Sand
Point/Guysborough – Joyce passed away peacefully at Milford Haven –
Home for Special Care in Guyborough, NS on Wednesday March 31st at the
age of 92 years. Joyce was born in Sand Point, NS, on August 23rd,
1928 to the late Lyle and Myrtle Carrigan.
Joyce moved to Halifax for work, where she met her husband
Gerald (Jerry). They later moved to Ontario where they raised their 2
children, Patsy and Wayne. After her children were grown, she moved
back to Sand Point in 1973 and worked for a lawyer in Guysborough,
Wilkie Grant.
Joyce is survived by Grandchildren Megan (Kevin) Fricker,
Halifax; and Wayne Lake, Ontario; Siblings, Doris Lamond, North
Carolina; Ronald Carrigan, Mississauga, ON; Harold Carrigan,
Vancouver, BC; Ina Marie Stecca, Oakville, ON; Sharon Behie, Sand
Point; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents
she was predeceased by her husband Jerry; children Patsy and Wayne;
Brothers Francis and Earl; Sister Mildred; Granddaughter
Tammy.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at
Milford Haven, for their compassionate care. Donations in her name may
be made to their Recreation Department.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family
graveside service at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of
Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may
