Obituary
Passed peacefully away following a courageous battle with cancer, on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s, Patricia Grace (nee Fagan), of St. Mary’s, S.M.B., aged 69years. Pre-deceased by husband Gordon, parents Sylvester & Josephine Fagan; siblings: Sylvester, Frank, Brendan & Randy; brother-in-law Bren Nolan, sister-in-law Georgina and members of the Grace family – parents-in-law John & Mary Grace; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Regina, Richard, Evelyn, Catherine, Veronica, Mary, Anne and Jaqueline.
Leaving to mourn daughters Anne Marie (Darnell) Fleming and Tina (Desi) Hanlon, son Gordon Jr. (Annmarie – and her children: Jessica, Bradley, Briana & Brady and grandchildren: Madison, Quinn, Dominic & Benjamin); precious grandchildren Jared and Desiree, cherished great-granddaughters Avalon and Chloe, sisters: Geraldine Nolan, Anne (Frank) Kielly, Joan (Don) Neville, Maureen Fagan and Rosemary (Michael) White, brothers Richard (Arlene) and Johnny, sister-in-law Mary Fagan; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law of the Grace family: Susan Tobin, Caroline Sabean, Marjorie (Aloysius) Gibbons, John (Carolann), Paddy (Agnes), Randy, Kenneth, David and Douglas, as well as, other extended family members, including many loved nieces, nephews and their families. A very special thank you is extended to doctors, nurses and staff of Health Science Center, 4 North A and the Ambulatory Care clinic, for the exceptional care and support provided to Mom and our family over the past year and especially the last few weeks; and to Rev. Fr. Francis Roche for his visits, prayers and spiritual guidance, which proved to be a source of strength during Mom’s final days and even hours. And finally, not forgetting to mention her dear friends, colleagues and customers, including John and staff, at John Gibbons Ltd. and Don Gibbons Ltd., where she served to be a faithful employee throughout the past 40 years, still working up until her illness prevented her from doing so.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held will be held in accordance with current COVID-19 regulations, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, St. Mary’s, on Wednesday, December 15, from 12 – 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 16, at 10am, at St. Mary’s. Burial to Follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
Vaccine Passport or proof of vaccination with photo ID will be required prior to entering the church for visitation and Mass.
