Obituary
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Panayotis Peter Careclakis, at the age of 83 years on December 4th, 2021.
Born in Greece, he immigrated alone to Canada as a teenager where he settled in Taber, Alberta, close to family. He later moved to Edmonton, where he met his wife of 59 years and raised a family together.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Spyridoula; parents, Evangelos and Spyridoula; and sister, Vasiliki. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Argiro; children, Maria (Ammar) and Evan; grandchildren, Adam and Nadia; great-granddaughter, Madalynn; and nephew, John.
Trisagion will be held on Thursday December 9, 2021 at 1:00 pm at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church (10831 124 Street, Edmonton AB) with interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery (16310 Stony Plain Rd, Edmonton AB). Due to Covid-19 protocols, all attendees will be required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccinations with QR code and photo ID, or a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours and photo ID.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada in his memory, 9405 50 St NW #150, Edmonton, Alberta, T6B 2T4.
